the film is directed by tom cruise and stars cruise as jack reacher, a brilliant and confident former cop who can’t seem to remember how he became a bounty hunter. reacher is called out of retirement to track down the most wanted man in america, a convicted murderer called the “poncho” by the authorities who escaped from prison the night he was to be executed. reacher is hired by the widow of a man who is killed by the “poncho”, but reacher doesn’t believe she was telling the truth. what should have been a routine contract assignment quickly turns into a desperate race against time.
