Initial Development of AutoCAD
Autodesk did not initially develop AutoCAD as a CAD package. Its initial development started in 1978 when, as a small company, Autodesk’s founders, Andrew Evans and Kevin Lynch, wanted to create a user interface for engineering and drafting that was based on the graphics terminals used by architects, civil engineers, and other drafters. A graphics terminal was a time-sharing computer application that a drafter could use for drawing, but a command-based user interface would not be as intuitive or convenient as the command-based interface of the pioneering drafting program that had been introduced to the marketplace by IBM, IDLE™.
The founders of Autodesk identified the need for a software package that would run on mainframe computers, portable personal computers, or microcomputers with attached graphics controllers. Their goal was to create a graphics terminal with a command-based interface that would be easy for drafters to learn and operate. By 1978, the founders had developed the first version of AutoCAD.

This class provides automatic and timely notification for changes in underlying SQL database. This notification is implemented in C# using a SQL Server trigger.
From MSDN:
SqlDependency enables you to take action on a change to a database by executing a stored procedure. If a stored procedure is executed, it is stored in a SQL Server database table so that the next time that trigger is triggered, it can execute another stored procedure or update application code.
Basically this class is used when you have SQL Server trigger and you want to execute some code at the time of some update of SQL Server database.
If you dont want to use triggers, you can always use SqlDependency class, for that you need to use this code:
