This application was designed especially for Lindenmayer systems data, or more generally for vector data, and offers the flexibility and robustness required for user interaction with the system, but also the user-friendliness and intuitive approach that opens up new possibilities for interfacing with a data set and building knowledge.
This tool was conceived to offer a full data analysis and visualization experience, since any types of data from these systems can be analysed, including the features and interactions previously known only for graphical information.
The user can therefore employ all the functions presented in the different sections of the tool, in order to perform data analysis and data display procedures.
ALSOG Torrent Download is comprised of three modules, each one addressing a different aspect of the needs of the user:
The “Preview” is an interactive application, which enables the user to interact with the data contained in the system, allowing access to its inner content, and support graphical presentation as well.
It also enables the user to create, modify, and delete the objects that constitute the system, and to display in a structured manner the resulting system in its current state.
In addition to the aforementioned, the application supports data visualisation in the system’s own coordinates, with intuitive methods for selecting and positioning the positions where the data will be displayed.
The remaining two modules, the “Analysis” and the “Interpretation”, offer the user many ways of interacting with the data, thus providing a complete processing chain that will allow users to gain a more accurate knowledge of the information that these systems offer, and interact more effectively with it.
On the other hand, as stated in the previous section, the “Interpretation” module also allows for the visualisation of the data, both as a standard set of functions and a set of options that users can change based on the specification of the system being analysed.
This module also supports rendering of the information to a multitude of formats, as well as an easy and intuitive extraction of the information it contains.
ALSOG is available as a free-to-download download and for use in both Windows and Mac environments, while each version includes a native application for both platforms, Windows and Mac, and a license for both.

ALSOG contains all the tools a developer needs to visualize, display and analyze tree data in the context of Lindenmayer systems.
From an initial input point of view, the application offers the ability to load binary files containing the binary data of the required system. In addition, it also offers the possibility to load excel files where you can store the required tree data and thus avoid the necessity of handling binary files.
If the required data is pre-set, the application allows the user to adapt a set of standard colors to be displayed, so that in the end, all data will display in the same shade and a particular variable will be mapped to a specific color. This option is also available in case users wish to use the data for any special purposes.
As for the Lindenmayer systems, users have the possibility of loading their data and displaying it in a wide range of shapes and colors, while also being able to work on standard parameters for the particular systems.
Finally, users also have the option of working in a 3D mode, so they can better visualize what is currently displayed in a set of 2D images.

ALSOG is the Java™ based application that enables users to load tree data from a variety of sources into their computer and, despite its simplified display design, reveal their Lindenmayer system-based characteristics.
The application also has a set of features that include the ability to change viewing metrics and view and/or save them for later use.
When it comes to data interpretation, ALSOG goes a step further with a set of features that allow users to work with given parameters and choosing among pre-set values.
Finally, after loading tree data, the application offers a variety of export options, allowing users to save all objects to a number of standard as well as proprietary formats.

Applications designed using these systems of Lindenmayer systems are made up of sets of nodes.
When creating a system, users must supply a number of basic parameters:
starting position: the starting position of the tree, where the values supplied must cover the whole area, from the top to the bottom of the screen
key path: the set of parent-child relationships, from which the resulting tree will be created
trees: the number of trees in the resulting system
iterations: the number of rendering iterations (applies to stochastic trees only)
Laminar Systems:
Laminar systems build a hierarchy of compositions using the pendant and grandchild nodes:
A pendant node represents one of the objects that will be created in the final tree, while grandchild nodes represent pre-existing parent and child nodes.
A pendant can also be created as a child node of a grandchild node (many grandchild nodes may be able to share one pendant node).
A pendant always has a lower layer number than its parent, which is itself a pendant. Each grandchild can have a lower layer number than its parent, but not necessarily that of its grandparent.
When modeling laminar systems, the trees are built by choosing the appropriate pendant node and then creating new nodes that become the children of the chosen pendant node. When working with laminar systems, users need to supply the name of the parent pendant node when constructing the nodes.
